Obituary of Bernard L. Ashline

Bernard L. Ashline (Bernie), 89, of Plattsburgh died on Thursday, February 10, 2022 at the UVM Health Network – CVPH, Plattsburgh with his loving family by his side. He was born in Plattsburgh on March 18, 1932, the son of Lester and Dorothy (Grimshaw) Ashline. Bernie worked for many farms throughout N.Y. in his lifetime. He also worked for 15 years at Pactiv in Plattsburgh. Bernie was an avid New York Yankees fan. He loved spending time with his family. Bernie always had a smile on his face, which will be remembered by all who knew him. Left to cherish his memory is his wife of 13 years, Sheila (Gordon) Ashline; his step children, Tammy Pare (Roger), Melissa Latulip (Johnny), Happy McKinney (Eric), Robert Quinn (Billie), Deanna Quinn-Rotella (Joe); his children, Paul, David, Patsey, Darlene, and Tina; sister, Hortense Premore; brothers, Robert (Marg), Norman Ashline, James (Kelly); his good friend, Wade Robinson; and several grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces and nephews that he loved dearly. Bernard was preceded in death by his parents, Lester and Dorothy; daughter, Kathy; stepson, Andy Harris; three brothers, Douglas Ashline, Roland Ashline, and Jacob Ashline, Sr; sister-in law, Cynthia Ashline; and brother-in law, Howard Premore. Relatives and friends are invited to call on Sunday, February 20, 2022 from 2 to 4 PM at Hamilton Funeral Home, 294 Mannix Road, Peru. A Funeral Service will follow in the Hamilton Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. William G. Reamer, officiating. In lieu of flowers, donations in memory of Bernard L. Ashline may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association. Arrangements are in the care of the Hamilton Funeral Home, 294 Mannix Road, Peru, 643-9055.
