Obituary of Danielle Marie Mashtare

Danielle Marie Mashtare, 30, of the Brown Road, Plattsburgh, died Monday, December 27, 2021 at the UVM Health Network, CVPH in Plattsburgh, with her loved ones by her side, following a courageous battle with a rare brain cancer. She was born in Plattsburgh, January 14, 1991, the daughter of Roger Thomas Mashtare and Linda Ann Bradley. She grew up in Plattsburgh, graduated from Beekmantown Central School and Clinton Community College. Danielle was a home health aide for the majority of her adult life and was also a seamstress, operating Sweet Sugaree Stitches. She loved family, friends, music, hiking, and sewing, but above all her son. The Grateful Dead was her favorite and she enjoyed traveling to concerts of all types. Left to cherish the memory of Danielle are her parents, Linda Bradley and Roger Mashtare; her companion, Nathan Lafferty; her son, Arlo Thomas Lafferty; siblings, Bobbie Jo (DJ) Staley, Jesse Mashtare (Nichole Martin), and Josh Mashtare (Nichole Garrand); maternal grandmother, Virginia Bradley; honorary grandmother, Helen Martineau; ten nieces and nephews, Keenan Clancy, Greyson Farrell, Paiden, Kenley, Kaleb Staley, Jeslynn, Kendra, Adaline Mashtare, and Zoe Mashtare; and two aunts and four uncles, John Bradley, Christine Spink, beloved "Cookie" Cheryl Proper, Clayton (Darlene) Mashtare, Darrell Martineau, and Daniel Martineau, Jr. She was predeceased by her paternal grandparents, Harry and Adaline Mashtare; and honorary grandfather, Daniel Martineau, Sr. Calling hours will be held Monday, January 3, 2022, from 2 to 4 pm at the Hamilton Funeral Home, 294 Mannix Road, Peru. Family and friends are encouraged to bring Grateful Dead stickers of all kinds, to stick on her casket. A funeral service will follow at 4 pm in the Hamilton Funeral Home Chapel. Donations in her memory may be made to the Fitzpatrick Cancer Center in Plattsburgh. Arrangements are in the care of the Hamilton Funeral Home, 294 Mannix Road, Peru, 643-9055.
