Obituary of Viola P. Bezio

Viola P Bezio, 94, of Pleasant Street, Keeseville, passed away Sunday, December 26, 2021 at UVM Health Network, CVPH, in Plattsburgh, with her loving family by her side. She was born in Stowe, VT, February 9, 1927, the daughter of Henry and Glenna (Jewett) Patnode. Viola graduated from Keeseville Central School in 1945. Viola married the love of her life, Francis A. Bezio February 25, 1946, he predeceased her January 29, 2004. She was a loving homemaker and together with her husband Francis, owned and operated Francis F. Bezio, Inc., in Keeseville. Prior to the fuel company Viola and Francis owned and operated Bezio's Studio in Keeseville, which was a photo studio and toy store. Viola assisted with religious classes with the Catholic Community of Keeseville, collected clothing for Birthright, and she was active with the Keeseville Elks and enjoyed working Bingo and the annual field day booth and in 1987 she and her husband were Elks Citizen's of the year. She and her husband also enjoyed fishing. Viola was a member of the Catholic Alter Rosary Society and coordinated the family reunions for over 30 years. She was also an avid sports fan and attended all of her grandchildren's sporting events and followed area sports when she could not attend. Survivors include her six sons and daughters-in-law, Darwin and Mary Anne Bezio, Norman and Gale Bezio, Gary and Paulette Bezio, Wendell and Anne Bezio, Steven and Tammy Bezio, and Brian and Sue Bezio; 41 grandchildren and great-grandchildren; brother, Clifford and wife Helen Patnode; sister, Janet Stiefel; sister-in-law, Olga Patnode; caregiver and special friend, Ruby Salley; and many nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents and husband she was predeceased by her siblings and their spouses, Cedric and Dorothy Patnode, Cecil and Cecilia Patnode, Roselma and Harold Grout, Wilfred and Mary Patnode, Rayburn and Victoria Patnode, Al Stiefel, and Alan Patnode. The family would like to thank Dr. Clark and Dr. Tiffany Bombard and the staff of the CVPH Emergency Room. Calling hours will be held Thursday, December 30, 2021 from 9:30 to 11:30 am at the Hamilton Funeral Home, 294 Mannix Road, Peru. A Mass of Christian Burial will follow at Noon at St. John's Church in Keeseville. Burial will be in the spring in the Evergreen Cemetery in Keeseville. Donations in memory of Viola Bezio may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital or the Evergreen Cemetery Association.
