Obituary of Janet Helen Rabideau

Janet Helen Rabideau, 82, of Route 22 B, Morrisonville, died on Sunday, November 21, 2021 at the UVM Health Network – CVPH, Plattsburgh with her loving family by her side. She was born in Plattsburgh on February 3, 1939, the daughter of Herbert, Sr. and Rita (Burnell) Farrell. In the early years, Janet worked for various places such as Vanity Fair, Bechtel Construction and Dorn’s Transportation, after which Janet became a full time homemaker taking care of her family. After the children were grown, Janet became the secretary for the Town of Schuyler Falls Water Department until she retired. Janet was a caregiver taking care of Donald’s grandmother, his parents and several friends selflessly, never expecting anything in return. In 1984, the dream of owning a camp in the Adirondacks came to fruition. Janet lived for time at their camp even visiting as recently as a few weeks ago. Left to cherish her memory is her husband of 64 years, Donald, Sr.; children: son, Gary (Lisa); daughter, Teri; son, Don, Jr. (Lee); son, David; and son, Rick (Shelly); 14 grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren; brother, Herb Farrell, Jr. (Mary); sisters, Shirley Balko and Linda Mero (Hal); sisters-in-law, Betty Schram and Beverly Farrell; and many nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her sisters, Sue Ellen and Sandie; brother, Wayne; in-laws, Victor, Jr. and Dorothy Rabideau; and her favorite son-in-law, Rick Blake. At Janet’s request there will be no public calling hours. A Funeral Mass will be held at a later date at the convenience of the family. In lieu of flowers, donations in memory of Janet Helen Rabideau may be made to SUNY Plattsburgh Alzheimer’s 101 Broad St # 227, Plattsburgh, NY 12901 and/or the American Diabetes Association P.O. Box 7023 Merrifield, VA 22116-7023. Arrangements are in the care of the Hamilton Funeral Home, 294 Mannix Road, Peru, 643-9055.
