It is devastating to hear about the loss of someone that played a role in my young teaching career. Cindy was a student/athlete for me in the 70s at AuSable Valley Middle High School. Her smile, her calming demeanor, her bubbly personality, and her unmatched work ethic are characteristics that I remember. Her smile was contagious. Thoughts and prayers for her family and friends. I am so shocked! Cindy will be missed, I used to shop in her shop, and then when that closed I would see her walking on my mail route. She was friendly and always a smile when I saw her. My condolences to her family. She will be missed.

I am so deeply saddened by this news. Cindy was a second mother to me throughout my childhood. I spent many nights at the Smart household and camp. I have some wonderful memories of Cindy. She would come to our house christmas eve with the girls abs we would play charades. So many laughs. I’m so happy that I ran into her a few months ago and I got to see her smiling face. A beautiful human being gone way too soon. Sending lots of love to the Smart family. Rest easy, my friend! ❤️
