Obituary of Richard Allen Wells
Please share a memory of Richard to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
On Tuesday morning, October 5th, 2021, Richard “Rick” Wells, loving father, husband, grandfather, and great-grandfather, passed away at age 72.
Rick was born on August 17, 1949, in Plattsburgh, NY, to Arnold and Mary Wells. He attended Peru Central School.
He worked as a bus driver at Peru Central School for over 30 years and retired in 2015, at age 66.
He raised two daughters, Tammy and Pam, and one son, Bobby, and is loved by three-step children, Jason Richards, Billie Quinn, and Terrie Wade.
Rick had a passion for working on cars, helping others, and for family. From the children he drove buses for, to his fellow staff and those he trained along the way, and all that falls in between, he worked with many in his time as a bus driver. People from all ages would respect him as a mentor, friend, and, most importantly, a good man. He inspired those around him to work for what they wanted and to never give up. Rick will be remembered for the times that he helped someone in a pinch, the way that he influenced each of our lives, and by the way he loved us all.
Rick was predeceased in death by his father, Arnold, and his mother, Mary, and his 2 brothers, Kenny Wells and Roger Wells, and one sister, Joyce Bernard.
He is survived by his wife Linda, his three children, Tammy Wells, Pam Castler, and Bobby Wells, his three step-children, Jason Richards, Billie Quinn, and Terrie Wade, his sister, Helen Kuhn, and several grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
