Zoa E. Howard, 85, of the Signor Road, Peru, died Thursday, September 9, 2021 at the Uihlein Mercy Center, Lake Placid with her loving family by her side. She was born in Plattsburgh on July 2, 1936, the daughter of Edmond and Rita (Provost) Timmons. Zoa loved camping and spending time with family. She also enjoyed just sitting watching nature. Zoa was employed by Northern Orchard for many years. Left to cherish the memory of Zoa are, a beloved sister-in-law, Loretta Timmons; her children, Debbie Baughn, James (Cindy) Shortell, and Colleen (Steve) Mashtare; step-children, Robert (Sue) Howard, Robin Howard, and Roger Howard; grandchildren, Mechelle (Kevin) Bair, Christopher (Britney) Mashtare, Bryan (Shelby) Shortell, and Alicia Shortell; step grandchildren, Austin Howard, Daniella Delong, Constance Greenwell, and Cassidy Howard; 14 great-grandchildren; and several nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews. In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her husband, George Arnold Howard (January 8, 2020); beloved brothers, Robert Timmons and Herbert “Bud” Provost; son-in-law, Desmond Vaughn. Relatives and friends are invited to call on Wednesday, September 15, 2021 from 9 to 10 AM at St Augustine’s Church, Peru. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 AM with the Rev. William G. Reamer, celebrating. Burial will follow in the parish cemetery. Donations in memory of Zoa Howard may be made to the Peru Fire Department. Arrangements are in the care of the Hamilton Funeral Home, 294 Mannix Road, Peru, 643-9055.
