Obituary of Margaret T. Dion

Please share a memory of Margaret to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
Margaret Ouellette Dion, 92, of Brinton Road in Keeseville, passed away peacefully on September 1, in her home with her family by her side. Margaret was born on February 5, 1929 in Saint Pacome, Quebec, Canada to her parents Joseph and Lucille Ouellette. During her 92 years, Margaret lead an interesting and fulfilling life. She had an amazing zest for knowledge, was an avid gardener, and held many jobs. During WWII when she was 15 she worked on the Canadian Pacific Railroad alongside her sister, brothers, and father cleaning engines after they pulled into the roundhouse. A real life Rosie the Riveter. During the 1980 Olympics in Lake Placid she worked as a waitress for the press and said she "watched the best hockey game ever and got paid to do it!" In addition to her parents and all her siblings, Margaret was preceded in death by her husband Marcel Dion, daughter Dorothy Ouellette and daughter Doris Sullivan, of Port Douglas. She leaves behind her sons Michael, Danny, Rocky, Steve, and daughters Lynn Solomon, and Christine Dion Gonzales. She also leaves behind many cherished grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Burial will be at Port Douglas Cemetery at the convenience of the family. In lieu of flowers, donations in Margaret's memory may be made to High Peaks Hospice. Arrangements are in the care of the Hamilton Funeral Home, 124 Clinton Street, Keeseville, 834-7667.
