Carl was such a genuine mix of strength and kindness, and over the years he and Bonnie became like a part of our family. We were so lucky to have him as a neighbor. He could fix anything and knew how to do absolutely everything. When he and Bonnie came down for the winter it was a relief just to know he was nearby.
He was always more than willing to do anything for those he cared about. And it meant so much to me that he always treated me (and my family) with respect and kindness during times when others may have judged.
These are just some small personifications that come to mind when I think of Carl: carrying his dog when her feet hurt. Helping my mom fix her motorcycle, her electric wiring, gutters, etc,etc. Giving my brother work when he was in between jobs. In one of our last conversations he talked with me about all of the different paths that life can take and finding happiness throughout.
And of course his biggest and most important love was Bonnie. He would do absolutely anything to make her happy. So, all of my family’s love, thoughts and condolences go out to her (and Dixie) during this difficult time. We love you Carl and you will be SO missed. Hope you are hunting happily now.
