Mama enjoyed sewing and crafting; she had a good laugh when she asked Laura to help her bring home yet another sewing machine. She baked and made plenty of desserts over the years, passing on her favorite family recipes to her children, apple pie and her mother's oatmeal raisin cookies on the top of the list, along with her homemade potato bread and "Bill's apple butter" from the 8th grade.
Darlene was devoted to her three children and proud of each one. She is survived by her oldest son, William "Bill" Reyell and grandson, Duncan Reyell of Plattsburgh. Her daughter, LauraMarie Gokey and Brian of Malone, grandson, Michael Gokey and three great-granddaughters, Audrey, Adalyn and Olivia, of Johnstown, PA. And her youngest son, Peter Reyell and companion, Lori Babbie, of Morrisonville.
Mama loved her kitties, missing both Snoopy and Warlock, Annie survives. She also loved Pete's beagles, her grand-puppies, missing Petey, survived by Junior and Daisy.
A very special thank you to Lori for all of her help with Mama at home. It means the world the love you gave her. And a thank you to Patrisha as well. You knew Mama for a short time but you gave us peace of mind in the help you provided.
Thank you so much to Dr. Ashley Bernotas and her staff at Hudson Headwaters. You took the time to listen to Mama and her wishes. You made it possible for her to stay home and do this her way.
And to Hospice of the North Country in Plattsburgh, Becky, Katie, Heather, Ashley and Terry, you responded to our request for help so very quickly and made a tough time just a little easier. Your care and help in taking care of Mama is so greatly appreciated.
