Obituary of Kathleen M. LaPier

Kathleen M. “Kathy” (Hemingway) LaPier, 67, of the Peasleeville Road, Schuyler Falls, passed away on Wednesday, July 28, 2021 at the UVM Health Network, CVPH, in Plattsburgh, following a lengthy battle with cancer. She was born in Plattsburgh, June 8, 1954, the daughter of Leeward G. Sr. and Genevieve (Matott) Hemingway. Kathy grew up on Cumberland Head and attended Beekmantown High School. She worked for Northern Orchard, Buck's Discount, Pray's Farmers Market, and lastly, Meadowbrook Healthcare. Kathy enjoyed visiting the Saratoga Casino and family gatherings, but her true love was spending time with her grandchildren. Left to cherish the memory of Kathy is her long time companion, Dave Declario; three children, Walter LaPoint of Keeseville, Nicole Crowningshield (Kevin) of Plattsburgh, and Vern Witherbee (Michelle) of Morrisonville; grandchildren, Brittney, Larry, Alexis, Paul Jr., Noah, Ke’shawn, Jayden, and Skylar; great grandchildren, Lucas, Landon, Liam, and Eliana; step-children and step-grandchildren; several brothers and sisters, nieces and nephews, cousins, aunts and uncles, and many close friends inlcluding a special young lady, Selina Lincoln. Kathy has now reunited with her parents; husband, Marshall; and brothers and sisters. She has missed them all very much. At Kathy’s request there will be no public calling hours. Burial will be in the Peasleeville Cemetery. Donations in her memory may be made to the Fitzpatrick Cancer Center. May an amazing woman rest in peace!
