Obituary of Dorothy Anne Chauvin
Dorothy Anne Chauvin, 94, died Sunday, May 30 at the UVM Health Network with her loving family at her side. Since 2000, she had resided at Lake Forest Retirement Community and prior to that, she was a longtime resident of Peru. Dorothy was born October 19, 1926 in Peru, the daughter of Charles and Mary (Gebo) Jarvis. She was a graduate of Keeseville Central School and Plattsburgh Business Institute. She married Donald F. Chauvin August 3, 1948 at St. Augustine's in Peru. He predeceased her March 11, 2014. She worked for Dr. Harmon LaMar DDS in Keeseville until Don founded the Clinton Oil Company and she became the business manager. She was a member of the Peru Altar and Rosary Society and the Peru Fire Department Ladies Auxiliary. Dorothy enjoyed crocheting, reading, Sudoku, playing cards with her family, and trips she took with her daughter to Hawaii, Paris, London, Scotland and many other places. Survivors include daughter Jeanne Pasti and husband Lawrence of Plattsburgh, grandson Eric Pasti of Essex Junction, VT, grandson Adam Pasti of Salem, MA, great-granddaughters Olivia and Charlotte of Essex Junction and several nieces and nephews. In addition to her husband, Dorothy was predeceased by her parents, brothers Charles and Ralph Jarvis, and a sister Marian Curran. Services will be private and at the convenience of the family. Donations in Dorothy's memory may be made to St. Augustine's Church or to a charity of one's choice. Arrangements are in the care of the Hamilton Funeral Home, 294 Mannix Road, Peru, 643-9055.
