Obituary of Helen A. Twa

Helen Hanley Twa, 85, of Port Kent, passed away peacefully on Monday, May 24, 2021, at the UVM-Health Network, CVPH, Plattsburgh with her loving family by her side. She was born in Burke, NY on December 14, 1935, the daughter of Rodney and Jennie (Finlayson) Hanley. Helen worked for Mold-Rite in Plattsburgh until her retirement. She was a member of the Keeseville Methodist Church. Helen enjoyed attending to her flowers with pride, knitting, and collecting angels and flower vases. She was a very loving sister. Left to cherish the memory of Helen are her siblings, two brothers, Ronald and wife Dora of Plattsburgh, and Robert and wife Mary of Keeseville; three sisters, Peggy Passino, Carmen Steffy, and Kathleen Desotell; and many nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her brother, Rodney Hanley; sister, Kay King; and brothers-in-law, Joseph Steffy, Leonard King, Floyd Desotell and Roger Passino; and a nephew, Stephen Desotell. There will be no public calling hours. A Graveside Service will be held in the Evergreen Cemetery on Thursday, May 27, 2021 at 2 PM with Rev. Rebekah Solar, officiating. In lieu of flowers, donations in memory of Helen Hanley Twa may be made to the charity of one’s choice.
