Obituary of Morris Edmund Roberts

Morris "Buster" Edmund Roberts, 87 of Champlain, New York passed away after a long battle with cancer on March 26, 2021. After getting married, Morris joined the Air Force where he was enlisted for four years. Upon returning to Champlain, he operated a family farm before starting his career at Harris Graphics. He worked at Harris Graphics for 25 years before they closed in 1987. After that, Buster went all over the world fixing and repairing the bindery machines that were manufactured by Harris in Champlain for twenty years. He was known as the "Godfather". He knew those machines inside and out. In his spare time, he owned and operated a used car dealership. Morris leaves behind a wife of 67 years, Pauline Roberts; a son and daughter in law, Gregg and Lisa Roberts; a daughter, Vicki Roberts and her companion, Gerri Trombley; four grandchildren, Kenny and Debbie Roberts, Christopher and Kristen Roberts, Bryon Roberts, and Elizabeth Roberts; two great granddaughters, Laci and Lexi Roberts; and three grand dogs, Franco, Buster Jr., and Razor. Morris is also survived by one sister, Margaret Dragoon. He is predeceased by one son, David Roberts; his parents, Elizabeth and Wilfred Roberts; and 14 siblings (Louis, Florence, Evelyn, Raymond, Pearl, Richard, Doris, Dora, Edward, Rita, Leita, Ronald, Elizabeth, and Gerald). Buster was a character and loved by all who knew him. He was the king of pranks and had a nickname for everybody. He could fix anything with duct tape which gained him the nickname of "Tworoy". His family meant the world to him and he was their Poppy. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Monday, March 29, 2021 at 11 AM at St Mary's Church, Champlain, with the Rev. William G. Reamer, celebrating. Military Honors to be accorded. Face Masks and Social Distancing will be required. Burial in the parish cemetery will be in the spring. In lieu of flowers and for the excellent care he received in his final days donations in memory of Buster may be made to Hospice of the North Country, 358 Tom Miller Road, Plattsburgh, NY 12901. Arrangements are in the care of the Hamilton Funeral Home, 793 Gilbert Road, Mooers, 236-4747.
