Obituary of Claude N. Brunet

Claude Norman Brunet, 58, of Lake Street Rouses Point, passed away peacefully on Saturday, February 27, 2021, going on to be with his parents. He was born in Malone on November 14, 1962, the son of Maurice and Rita (Bertrand) Brunet. One of Claude's greatest joys was seeing people happy and his heartfelt love for them was noticed by everyone. He was a gentle man that would go out of his way to avoid confrontation. His smile and laughter would fill a room and there was none better than Claude to sit with over a beverage to make you feel better about yourself. Claude's love for entertaining people was second to none. His interest in the hospitality industry started when his parents bought a hotel and restaurant in Cornwall, Ontario when he was just 16 years old. After working in Ontario for a few years, Claude moved to Texas, later returning home to live and work in Plattsburgh where he became very well known. His love for family, especially his sister, Carol and her dog, Hollie, as well as all of his nieces and nephews, was truly his greatest joy in life. Survivors include his siblings, Gilles and Nancy Brunet of Malone, Ronald and Betty Brunet of Ellenburg Center, Dale and Darlene Brunet of Ellenburg Center, Carol and Frank Dumas of Champlain, and Steven and Candy Brunet of Ellenburg Depot; nieces and nephews, Stephen Russell, Melanie Desso, Travis Brunet, Brian Brunet, Brad Brunet, Kyle Brunet, Dustin Brunet, Tyler Bechard, Magan McCool, Malinda Bechard, and Charlie and Cody Brunet. Claude was predeceased by his parents, Maurice "Fred" (2015) and Rita (2000) (Bertrand) Brunet; a brother, Michael Brunet; and a nephew, Brock Brunet. Services for Claude will be private. In lieu of flowers, donations in memory of Claude N. Brunet may be made to a charity of one's choice. Arrangements are in the care of the Hamilton Funeral Home, 793 Gilbert Road, Mooers, 236-4747.
