Obituary of John A. LeClaire
John A. LeClaire, 68, of Chasands Drive, Plattsburgh, died Monday, January 25, 2021 at the UVM Health Network, CVPH in Plattsburgh. He was born in Plattsburgh, November 12, 1952, the son of Adrian LeClaire and the former Helen Mumblow. He graduated from Beekmantown High School in 1971. John was a Navy veteran who served his country from 1972 until 1974. He retired from Nova Bus in January 2020. John is survived by the love of his life, Suzanne Giroux, who was by his side at the time of his death. The two of them enjoyed traveling to Florida and Myrtle Beach. They loved camping and fishing. He loved spending time with family and friends. John also loved animals and had two cats, Oliver and Jasper, who miss him very much. He also enjoyed watching football, especially his favorite team, the Kansas City Chiefs. John is also survived by two daughters, Shari LeClaire, and Nicole Gilbert (Damian), all of Plattsburgh; Suzanne’s daughters, whom he had a very special bond, Stephanie Chenail, and Valerie Chenail, both of Canada, and Jessica Hamilton of Mooers; brothers, Harold LeClaire of West Chazy, Chris Gowett of Plattsburgh, Daniel Konkoski of Florida, Carl Ambroselli of Utica, and Greg Brunet of West Chazy; sisters, Terry Quist (Ed) of Sherwood, ND, Kathy Tucker (Doug) of Seaford, DE, Brenda Taylor (Jimmy) of Milford, DE, and Paula Ambroselli of Utica; 7 grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his foster parents, Joseph and Bertha Brunet; and brothers, Michael LeClaire, Rick LeClaire, and Mickey Ambroselli. Due to COVID, there will be no public services at this time. Arrangements are in the care of the Hamilton Funeral Home, 294 Mannix Road, Peru, 643-9055.
