Obituary of Betty Jane Jandreau

Betty J. Jandreau, 89, of Plattsburgh, died peacefully, Wednesday, January 6, 2021 at Meadowbrook Healthcare in Plattsburgh. Betty was born in Plattsburgh, May 30, 1931, the daughter of William and Bertha (Douglas) Guilbo. She earned her GED later in life. Bernard L. Jandreau and Betty were married June 21, 1951 at St. Peter's Church in Plattsburgh, where Betty was a life-long parishioner and a member of the choir. Together they had two children, Daniel L. Jandreau and Cheryl M. Benoit. Betty loved singing, traveling, playing bingo and spending time with her sisters. Betty is survived by her children, Daniel and wife, Deborah (Clemons) Jandreau and Cheryl Benoit and companion, David Bergeron; brother and sister-in-law, Terry and Linda Guilbo; sisters, Joan Miller and Sandy Bezio; sister-in-law, Ceceil Guilbo; seven grandchildren, Tanya and Melissa Benoit and Jamie, Nicole, Heather, Julie Beth, and Kerianne Jandreau; thirteen great grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews. Betty was predeceased by her parents; her husband; sisters, Katherine and husband Gordon Seymour and Barbara and Robert Mason; brother, William Guilbo; brother-in-law, Maurice Bezio; sister-in-law, Sylvia Covert and George Fraizer; grandson, Christopher Jandreau; and great grandson, Eli Jandreau. Due to Covid-19 there will be no calling hours or services at this time. Services will be held later in the year. In lieu of flowers, donations in memory of Betty J. Jandreau may be made to the Peru Fire Department. Arrangements are in the care of the Hamilton Funeral Home, 294 Mannix Road, Peru, 643-9055.
