Obituary of Clarence W. Rascoe

Clarence W. Rascoe, 84, formerly of the Lamora Road, Saranac, died Sunday, November 1, 2020 at the Clinton County Nursing Home in Plattsburgh. He was born in Saranac, November 20, 1935, the son of Guy and Anna (Reyell) Rascoe. Clarence married Catherine F. Cassavaugh, August 2, 1958 at St. Paul's Church in Bloomingdale. She predeceased him, May 2, 2004. He was a heavy equipment operator with the New York State Dept. of Transportation for 31 years, prior to retiring. He was a long-time communicant of the Church of the Assumption in Redford, and also a member of the Saranac Volunteer Fire Dept. for many years, prior to becoming an honorary member. Clarence enjoyed camping, traveling, and NASCAR. He was especially fond of Dale, Jr. Left to cherish the memory of Clarence are, his children, Dale (Phyllis) Rascoe, Ronny (Betty Jean) Rascoe, and Sharon Carter (Kevin Bullis); seven grandchildren, Megan, Courtney, and Fawn Rascoe, Raymond, Jr., David, and Paul Carter, and Desaree Pinkham; great-grandson, Jackson Carter; and several nieces and nephews. In addition to his wife, he was predeceased by his mother in 1974; his father in 1979; brothers, Richard, Raymond (Theresa), and Irvin (Theresa); and sister, Rose (Curtis) Plumadore. Calling hours will be held Monday, November 9, 2020 from 11 to 1 pm at the Hamilton Funeral Home, 294 Mannix Road, Peru. A Mass of Christian Burial will follow at 2 pm at the Church of the Assumption in Redford with Rev. Scott R. Seymour, parish priest, celebrating. Committal prayers and burial will follow in the parish cemetery. Donations in his memory may be made to the Saranac Rescue Squad. Arrangements are in the care of the Hamilton Funeral Home, 294 Mannix Road, Peru, 643-9055.
