Obituary of Maurice R. Bezio

Maurice R. "Chico" Bezio, 82, of Route 22, Keeseville, passed away on Sunday, October 11, 2020 at the UVM – Health Network, CVPH, Plattsburgh. He was born in Plattsburgh on January 10, 1938, the son of Roger and Irene (Martin) Bezio. Maurice attended Keeseville Central School Maurice in his early years was employed at Pepsi Cola Bottling Company and was a fuel delivery driver at Francis F Bezio Fuel Company in Keeseville NY. He retired in 1996 after 28 years from New York State Department of Transportation where he was a Heavy Equipment Operator. Maurice was an active member in the community. He coached Little League for a number of years, was a long time member of the Keeseville BPOE Elks Lodge and held a trustee position for many years. He was also active in sports, including men's softball and was an avid bowler at Keeseville and AuSable Forks Lanes and competed in many bowling tournaments in New York State. He was also very close to his grandchildren and attended many of their sporting events. He was a very talented carpenter and took great pride working side by side with his sons and grandsons over the years during their many house construction projects. During his senior years, Maurice was a recreational golfer. He also looked forward to his trips to the casino where he met and made many new friends. Maurice was a lifetime parishioner of St. John's Church in Keeseville. Left to cherish his memory is his wife of 60 years, Sandra Guilbo, the love of his life, who he married on May 14, 1960 at St. Peter's Church in Plattsburgh, N.Y. His children, David (Wendy) Bezio, Shirley (Timothy) Ashline, James Bezio and Deborah Trudell, Jeff Bezio and fiancé, Angie Lamica. His grandchildren, Jason (Kirsten) Bezio, Kimberly (Trevor) Kinblom, Jody Ashline, Samantha Ashline (Dalanne Bartlett), Cassandra Lynn Bezio, Jesse Thomas Bezio, Kayla Bezio (Jake MacDougal), Casey Bezio, Evan Lamica and Emma Lamica. His Great-grandchildren, Benjamin, Samuel and Charlotte Bezio, Ellie and Brooke Kinblom and Remi James Bezio. Maurice is survived by a brother, Warren Bezio, sister- in- laws, Joan Miller, Betty Jandreau and Cecelia Guilbo and brother- in-law Terry (Linda) Guilbo and several nieces and nephew and cousins. Relatives and friends are invited to call on Thursday, October 15, 2020 from 2 to 4 PM at the Hamilton Funeral Home, 294 Mannix Road, Peru. A Funeral Service will be held at 4 PM with the Rev. Alan D. Shnob (retired) officiating. In lieu of flowers, donations in memory of Maurice R. Bezio may be made to: UVM – Health Network, CVPH, Plattsburgh. or Keeseville Volunteer Fire Dept.
