Obituary of Norman Edward Duprey

Norman Edward "Norm" Duprey, 80, formerly of the Miner Farm, Sciota, died unexpectedly, Wednesday, October 7, 2020 at the UVM Health Network, CVPH in Plattsburgh. He was born in Plattsburgh, June 15, 1940 and raised in Champlain, the son of Edward and Ruby (Lafountain) Duprey. Norm went to St. Mary's school and was an avid basketball, baseball and soccer player. He was fondly remembered by his school mates and friends as Diapers. He lived with his wife and children on the Miner Farm Road in Sciota, NY. Norm was passionate about golf and the New York Yankees. He loved to spend time with his family and friends. His children and grandchildren and great grandchildren were his life. Norman was a volunteer firefighter in Yalesville, Connecticut. He ran roller skating for the Sciota, NY kids for many years which included Halloween parties and dances alongside Father Gilbert. He held many jobs over the years; most memorable was working at G & G tire. In his retirement years Norm worked at the Yankee Stadium at their spring training camp in Florida. He loved his Florida home and friends in Betmar Acres. He loved to play golf and volunteered at many events and activities. Norm also loved working Bingo in Florida and New York. Norm is survived by his wife, Anne Duprey of 58 years, four sons, Troy and Susan Duprey, Todd and Mary Duprey, Timothy and Julie Duprey, Travis and Jamie Duprey. Several grandchildren; Kyle Duprey, Marissa Velasquez, Sara and James Book, Stephen and Chelle Duprey, Samantha Duprey, Andrew Duprey, Alexander Duprey, Allyson Duprey, Landon Duprey, and Matthew Duprey. Several Great grandchildren; Noah Velasquez, Kaden Book, Nicholas Duprey, Anna Duprey and another new addition due in February. He also survived by Lillian Cookman sister in law, Edna Myatt mother in law, Gary and Shelly Favro sister in law and brother in law, Gayle Trombley sister in law, Edward McKenzie brother in law, Norma Thomas special cousin, plus many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his mother Ruby, father Edward, sister, Marie, and additional loved ones. Relatives and friends are invited to call on Sunday, October 11, 2020 from 2 to 4 PM at the Hamilton Funeral Home, 793 Gilbert Road, Mooers. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Monday, October 12, 2020 at 11 AM at Sacred Heart Church, Chazy, NY with Rev. Ted Crosby celebrating. Masks are required with social distancing at all locations. In lieu of flowers, donations in memory of Norman Edward Duprey may be made to the Pepin Heart Center in Tampa Florida - AdventHealth Foundation West Florida, 14055 Riveredge Drive, Suite 250, Tampa, FL 33637.
