Obituary of Thomas E. Doner

Thomas E. "Tom" Doner, 87, of State Route 22, Keeseville, died Saturday, March 7, 2020, at the UVM Health Network, CVPH in Plattsburgh, with his family by his side. He was born in Underhill, VT, November 17, 1932, the son of David and Catherine (Martineau) Doner. Tom grew up in Keeseville. Tom served his Country proudly with the United States Army in the Korean War, until his honorable discharged in 1953. He married the former Shirley M. LeClair, June 5, 1954 in Plattsburgh. Tom worked construction, he worked for the Town of AuSable, and he lastly worked at Willsboro Wood Products, prior to retiring. Tom enjoyed rebuilding cars, working in the woods, and watering his lawn, but his true love was spending time with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Left to cherish the memories of Tom are, his children, John (Stacy) Doner, Denise Doner, Dennis Doner, Diane (James) Macey, Donna (George) Ouimette, David (Tammy) Doner, Dawnlee (Ronald) LaFountain, Dale Doner, Darlene Doner (Mike Smith), Debra (Bryan) Aumell; 22 grandchildren; several great-grandchildren; sisters, Sharron, Sally, Mary and Louise; brothers, Carl and Peter; and several nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his wife, Shirley Doner; sisters, Grace, June, Irene, Joyce, Margaret, and Kathleen; brother, David "Jim" Doner; sister-in-law, Lorraine Doner; and a special son-in-law that he thought the world of, David King. Relatives and friends may call Tuesday, March 10, 2020 from 6 to 7 pm at the Hamilton Funeral Home, 124 Clinton Street, Keeseville. A funeral service will follow at 7 pm in the Hamilton Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. William G. Reamer, officiating. Committal prayers and burial will be held Monday, May 4, 2020 in St. John's Cemetery in Keeseville, following an 11 am Mass in the Immaculate Conception Church. Donations in his memory may be made to St. Jude Children's Hospital. Arrangements are in the care of the Hamilton Funeral Home, 124 Clinton Street, Keeseville, 834-7667.
