Obituary of Ilya Ann Marie Corrigan

Ilya Ann "Joan" Corrigan, 86 of Keeseville, died on Sunday, February 16, 2020 at Meadowbrook Healthcare, with her loving family by her side. She was born in Ellenburg, September 11, 1933, the daughter of James and Winifred (Jones) Meagher, Sr. Joan graduated from William Hall High School in West Hartford, CT. She worked for Traveler's Insurance Company in Hartford, CT. She was a member of the Women's Army Corps for 2 years. On June 14, 1958 she and Martin Corrigan, Jr. were married at St. Justin's Church in Hartford, CT by Father F.L. Fogarty. After moving to Keeseville, NY in 1975 she began a home-based childcare. She continued this profession for over 20 years. Joan is survived by her children, Martin Corrigan III, Martha Passino (Randy LaBarge) and Michael Corrigan; and her favorite daughter-in-law, Susan Corrigan. She leaves behind four grandsons, Robert Corrigan, Russell Passino, William J. Corrigan and Steven Corrigan; and great-granddaughters, Amara Corrigan, Zoee Corrigan and Korynn Passino. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, Joan was predeceased by her husband, Martin Corrigan, Jr.; son, William P. Corrigan; sister, Marilyn Meagher; three brothers and their wives, James and Mary Meagher, John and Margaret Meagher and David and Clairette Meagher; brother-in-law and his wife, Edward and Ellen Corrigan; and sisters-in-law, Eleanor and Mary Corrigan; and a nephew, Robert McCann. Relatives and friends are invited to call on Wednesday, February 19, 2020 from 3-5 pm at the Hamilton Funeral Home 124 Clinton Street, Keeseville. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Thursday, February 20, 2020 at 10 AM, at St. John's Church, Keeseville, with the Rev. William G. Reamer, celebrating. Burial will be in the spring in the Port Douglas Cemetery. In lieu of flowers donations in memory of Ilya Ann Corrigan may be made to The Alzheimer's & Dementia Programs at SUNY Plattsburgh, 101 Broad Street, Plattsburgh, NY. Arrangements are in the care of the Hamilton Funeral Home, 124 Clinton Street, Keeseville, 834-7667.
