Obituary of David Paul LaBounty

David Paul LaBounty, 56, of Keeseville, and more recently of Tampa Florida passed away unexpectedly, Sunday, December 22, 2019 at Tampa General Hospital in Florida. He was born in Plattsburgh on December 1, 1963, the son of Robert E. "Bob" and Helena (Olshewksy) LaBounty. He graduated from AuSable Valley Central School in Clintonville, NY. After high school David moved to Tampa Florida completed microelectronics technical training program and was currently employed at Aero Simulation Incorporated in Tampa. He routinely traveled throughout the United States and often volunteered for overseas assignments completing the installation of a wide variety of flight simulators on both military and commercial contracts. He really enjoyed his occupation and appreciated the challenges it presented. David was an avid fisherman and loved to fix anything he could get his hands on. Even as child David was known for fixing all the families bikes. He loved working on cars and spent endless hours doing painstaking rebuilds with his best friend John Wright. David was very kindhearted, unselfish and would help anyone. Cooking out on the grill and having gatherings around a bonfire were some of his favorite things to do day or night. In addition to his parents, David is survived by his son, Tanner of Sarasota, FL; siblings, Cathy Steele of Alaska, Darlene Peeters and husband, Ted of Ticonderoga, and Timothy LaBounty of Keeseville; nieces, Kristen Steele and Brooke LaBounty and one nephew Joshua Peeters. David was predeceased by his brother, Robert E. LaBounty, Jr. There will be no public calling hours. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Monday, January 6, 2020, 11 AM at St. John's Church, Keeseville. Burial in the parish cemetery will be in the spring. In lieu of flowers, donations in memory of David Paul LaBounty may be made to Catholic Community of Keeseville. Arrangements are in the care of the Hamilton Funeral Home, 294 Mannix Road, Peru, 643-9055.
