Obituary of Lawrence Edmund Banker

Lawrence E. "Larry" Banker, 75, of the John Boswell Road, Peru, passed away on Saturday, August 17, 2019 at the UVM Health Network, Fletcher Allen Hospital with his loving family at his side.

He was born in Holyoke, MA, on April 4, 1944, the son of Lawrence and Olive (Dowd) Banker.

Larry worked for various oil companies throughout his life as an oil delivery man and service technician. He started his career in 1964 with Wilcox and Holt and continued working in the industry through several company name changes and finally retired from his job while at Griffith Oil Company in 2007.

In his spare time, he loved classic cars and classic country. Larry was a proud member of the North County Classic Car Club. He was proudest while riding in parades and participating in cruise-ins. He loved to visit the Saranac Town Hall on Tuesday nights, dancing the night away while listening to friends playing traditional country music!

Left to cherish the memory of Larry is his daughter, Cherie LaDuke (David); companion, Shirley Blake; stepchildren, Kevin Stone, Debra Burnell, Brenda Provost, Mark Stone (Judy), and Christopher Stone; grandchildren, Evan, Jacob, Jessica, Gail (Ryan), Harley (Ashton), Kristopher, Marlena (Will), Justin and Kristin; his brother, Guy Banker (Peggy) and sister, Harriet Drollette; nieces, Sara (Adam), Debbie (Robert) and PeggyLee (Eric); nephews, Michael (Shelley), Duane (Brenda), Brian (Maureen), Eugene, Andre, Mark (Joan) and Matthew (Danielle).

In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his sister, Sally Chevalier and her husband, Kenneth and his brother-in-law, Leo Drollette.

Relatives and friends are invited to call on Thursday, August 22, 2019, from 3 to 6 PM at the Hamilton Funeral Home, 294 Mannix Road, Peru. If you have a Classic Car or Truck and would like join us for the procession, please do. Burial will follow in the Peasleeville Cemetery.

Donations in memory of Lawrence E. "Larry" Banker may be made to the UVM Medical Center, Oncology Unit.
