Obituary of Helen V. Gough
Helen V. Gough, 85, formerly of River Street, Keeseville and more recently of Dusty Road, also in Keeseville, died Tuesday, July 30, 2019, at her home under the loving care of her family and High Peaks Hospice.
She was born in Plattsburgh, October 6, 1933, the daughter of Jessie and Effie (McDougal) Rivers. She grew up in Willsboro.
Helen loved Country Western music, Kitty Wells was her favorite and she loved to dance. She also enjoyed playing cards, and going to McLean's Restaurant. In her younger years, she enjoyed bingo, but her true joy was spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Left to cherish the memory of Helen, are her children; son, Augustus Gough of AuSable Forks and daughter, Sharlene Heckman of Keeseville; 5 grandchildren, Kaylah Hoehn of Keeseville, Dustin Duval of Keeseville, Kristy Heckman of Long Island, Samantha Heckman of Keeseville, and Angelique Gough of Glens Falls; 3 great-grandchildren; sisters, Doris Mattila of Keeseville, Cora LaBounty of Keeseville, and Viva Rivers of Keeseville; a close friend of the family, Nannette Bezio who she loved like her own child of Clintonville; and many nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her sister, Rena Cumm.
Calling hours will be held Friday, August 2, 2019 from 10 to Noon at the Hamilton Funeral Home, 124 Clinton Street, Keeseville. A funeral service will follow at Noon in the Hamilton Funeral Home Chapel. Committal prayers and burial will follow in the Evergreen Cemetery in Keeseville.
