Obituary of Jane A. Sample

Jane A. Sample, 61, of the LaValley Road, Champlain, passed away peacefully on Monday, July 8, 2019 at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center in Los Angeles, California, with her loving husband by her side.

She was born in Plattsburgh on June 30, 1958, the daughter of Arthur and June (Pelkey) Nephew. She grew up in Mooers and attended Northeastern Clinton Central School.

She married Leonard T. "Peck" Sample, April 14, 1977 in Council Bluffs, Iowa. Together Peck, Jane and their children worked hard to establish the Rainbow Wedding and Banquet Hall to be a premier location in the North Country for events of all kinds.

Prior to co-owning and operating the banquet hall, Jane worked at Schonbek Lighting and Beekmantown Central School.

She was recognized as a Woman of Distinction in 2018 by Assemblyman D. Billy Jones and also by Woodmen Life-Chapter 462 with The Community Leadership Award in 2017.

Jane enjoyed playing cards and board games, spending time with her family and friends, travelling, especially to Las Vegas because she was very lucky.

Her positive energy and brilliant smile made her the perfect person to work with the public and guide people to plan their dream event.
