Obituary of Benjamin Joseph Sprague, Jr.
Benjamin Joseph Sprague, Jr., 70, of LaBombard Lane, AuSable Forks, died Thursday, June 6, 2019 at his home under the loving care of his family and High Peaks Hospice.
He was born in Keene Valley, November 4, 1948, the son of Benjamin Joseph, Sr. and Irene (Adams) Sprague.
For years Ben worked in the woods and at the age of 62 he retired from Fuller's Excavating in Keeseville where he had worked for the previous 13 years.
Ben loved to fish, hunt, and spend time with his family and friends.
Left to cherish his memory are his loving wife of 46 years, Carolyn (Blaise) Sprague, who he married Saturday, September 30, 1972; son, Benjamin, III and his wife, Chelsea; daughter, Ann; son, Christopher and his wife, Brittany; mother-in-law, Helen Blaise; grandchildren, Deckard Thomas and his wife, Ely, Benjamin IV, William, Julia and Peyton Sprague, and Brendon Bombard; great-granddaughter, Scarlett Thomas; sisters, Leah Jaquish, Diane (Leslie) Mitchell, Yvonne (Wayne) Ashline, Helen (Paul Hart) Sprague; several nieces, nephews, cousins, and extended family members; close friend, Howard Drake, Sr.; and his Stewarts coffee clan.
Ben was predeceased by his parents, Ben, Sr. and Irene; his brother, George Sr.; sister, Margaret Lawrence; and close friend, Doug Decker, Sr.
A celebration of life will be held Friday, June 14, 2019 at 6 PM at the American Legion Post 504 in AuSable Forks.
Donations in his memory may be made to the charity of one's choice.
