Obituary of Grace M. LaMoy

Grace Mary LaMoy, 78, of the Fuller Road in Peru, passed away peacefully on Thursday, May 09, 2019, at her home under the loving care of her family and Hospice of the North Country following her battle with cancer.

She was born in Plattsburgh on August 27, 1940, the daughter of Lawrence and Dorothy (Rivers) Stone.

Grace attended Beekmantown School as a child before moving to Peru and attending Peru Central School. She loved spending time with her grand and great grandchildren, watching NASCAR and going fishing, and especially shopping with her sister, Helen.

She is survived by her husband of 60-1/2 years, Leeward LaMoy and their three children, Debra Ebersole and her husband, Lawrence of Peru, Glen and his wife, Brenda (Brelia) of Peru, Jaqueline and her significant other, Charles LaFountain, also of Peru; 6 grandchildren, Cathleen, Amanda, Craig, Joseph, Keith, and Racheal; sisters, Helen (Stone) Cook, of Peru, Shirley (Stone) LaFountian, also of Peru; sister-in-law, Linda (Stone) Avanzato and her daughter, Kim (Stone) Mason, also from Peru; as well as many grand children, great grandchildren, and nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, Grace was predeceased by her grandchildren, Jennifer and Joshua; brother, Lawrence Stone of Peru; brothers-in-law, James LaFountain and Clyde Cook.

Grace will be sadly missed by all of her family and friends, especially the love of her life, Leeward.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Monday, May 13, 2019, at 10 AM at St. Augustine's Church, 3035 Main Street, Peru, with the Rev. Alan D. Shnob, celebrating. Burial will follow in the parish cemetery.

Donations in memory of Grace Mary LaMoy may be made to Hospice of the North Country and/or the Fitzpatrick Cancer Center.
