Obituary of Albert F. LaDuke
Albert F. "Al" LaDuke, 83, of the Military Turnpike, Plattsburgh, died Saturday, May 4, 2019 at the UVM Health Network, CVPH in Plattsburgh, with his loving family by his side.
He was born in Swastika, December 29, 1935, the son of Raymond and Hazel (Devins) LaDuke.
Al grew up on North Bend in Peru and graduated from Peru Central High School 1952. Following high school he worked at Marsha's Pharmacy in Peru for a short time before enlisting in the United States Air Force and proudly served during the Korean Conflict until his honorable discharge.
He married his high school sweetheart, Eileen Bradley, January 17, 1959 in St. Augustine's Church in Peru.
Throughout his life he held several positions locally including working for Mason's Mill, Dominion Lock, National Bell Stores, Plattsburgh Restaurant Supply, and Quebecor where he retired from in 1997. Following retirement he worked at Plattsburgh Motor Service for several years.
He was a charter member of the Peru VFW Post 309.
Al was an avid sports fan and especially enjoyed watching the Red Sox and Cowboys. He loved his family and spending time with them all.
Left to cherish the memory of Al are, his loving wife of 60 years, Eileen LaDuke; his children, Ricky and Susan LaDuke, Tim and Tami LaDuke, Cheryl Liberty and her companion Jerry Martin, and Bradley LaDuke; 10 grandchildren; 22 great-grandchildren; brother and sister-in-law, Wayne and Linda LaDuke; brother-in-law, Ronald Caplette; and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents he was predeceased by his brother and sister-in-law, Donald and June LaDuke; and sister, Linda Caplette.
Relatives and friends may call Friday, May 10, 2019 from 1 to 2 PM at the Hamilton Funeral Home, 294 Mannix Road, Peru. A funeral service will follow in the Hamilton Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Scott Seymour, officiating. Committal prayers, military honors, and burial will follow in St. Augustine's Cemetery.
Donations in his memory may be made to the local Meals on Wheels.
