Obituary of Leslie C. Keefe

Leslie C. Keefe, 83, of Apple Valley Drive, Peru, passed in peace on Tuesday, March 5, 2019, at the UVM Health Network, CVPH, Plattsburgh.

He was born in Hartford, CT., on October 23, 1935, the son of Herbert and Eleanor (Caldwell) Keefe.

Les married Nancy L. Bennett on January 2, 1987 and subsequently held Nancy’s family as his own.  He retired in 1992 from Pratt & Whitney, in East Hartford, CT after 35 plus years of employment as a mechanic.

After Nancy’s passing in 2008, he continued to remain the quiet patriarch of her remaining family.  He later met his partner and companion Mary Seymour. He not only embraced Mary, but her family as his own until his passing.

Les found enjoyment in watching WWE Wrestling and sharing the events of the matches in lively converstation with his close friends.  He was also a life long (many times frustrated) fan of both the New York Yankees and New York Football Giants.

His loved ones knew that Les’s Wednesday evenings were always ‘booked’ and filled with Chicago Med, P.D. and Fire.  Les also found a great deal of delight in watching HGTV.  His weekday afternoons were spent in watching The Young & The Restless along with The Bold & The Beautiful while in the company of his beloved companion, Mary,

While he loved a good steak at any number of specialized venues, in particular he enjoyed homemade steak when made on the grill by his grandson, Tyler.  He would seldom pass up the opportunity to have soup and salad from his favorite restaurant; Hungry Bear Restaurant.

His capacity to love was unlimited. He was a modest and humble man with a large heart. Those he loved that were nearby or from a distance were always his true priority.  Leslie was always there to listen and, without judgement, provide support and encouragement. Those conversations always ended not only in “goodbye” but a heartfelt “I love you”.

Survivors include his companion, Mary Seymour and her daughters Jennie (Favreau) Coger and her husband Anthony Coger, Shannon (Favreau) Brown and her fiancé Kris Duncan with her children Jordan-Ann, Scott and Dylan; and son Shawn Favreau with his wife Juli (Peacock) Favreau with their children, Krystyn and Caeden.  Leslie’s son, David B. Glidden and grandson, Tyler Keefe Glidden and his partner, Nicole Shorette; his daughter Jeanette (Glidden) Breault and her partner James Perry as well as grandchildren Marcy-Lee (Breault) Printy and Joshua Caldwell Breault and his great grandchildren; Daniel and Nancy Breault.
