Obituary of Mary Raposa

Mary V. Raposa, 72, of Maple Street in Morrisonville, passed away on Thursday, October 25, 2018, at Meadowbrook Health Care, Plattsburgh, with her loving family by her side.

She was born in Plattsburgh on July 11, 1946, the daughter of Glenn and AnnaMae (Lewis) Sorrell.

Mary was employed at Morrisonville Elementary School for 22 years, where she worked as a teacher's aide.

Her passion was spending time with her devoted husband and family, as well as attending her grandchildren's extracurricular activities.

Left to cherish Mary's memories is her husband of 51 years, Francis "Frank" Raposa; children, Shelley Light and her husband, Pete, of Jay, Thomas "Tom" Raposa and his wife, Allison, of Walden, Marci LaPier and her husband, Brian, of Peru; brother, Thomas Sorrell and his wife, Debra; brother in law, Arthur Goddeau; grandchildren, Jordynne Raposa of North Haledon, NJ, Tyler Light of Jay, Zoe Raposa of Walden, Zachary LaPier of Peru, Abbey Light of Jay, Carter LaPier of Peru and Isabella Latourette of Walden; as well as several nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, Mary was predeceased by her sister, Glenda Goddeau.

Mary's Family would like to thank all of the caring staff on the 3rd floor at Meadowbrook Health Care.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Monday, October 29, 2018, at 11 AM at St. Alexander's Church in Morrisonville with the Rev. Scott R. Seymour, celebrating. Burial will follow in the parish cemetery. After the burial a reception will be held at Jubilee Hall at St. Alexander's Church.

Donations in memory of Mary V. Raposa may be made to the Third Age Adult Day Center, SUNY Plattsburgh.
