Obituary of Evan Paul MacDougal

Evan Paul MacDougal, 24, of 306 Leggett Road, Champlain, passed away unexpectedly Tuesday, October 2, 2018 in Irondequoit, NY.

He was born in Plattsburgh on September 16, 1994, the son of Paul and LouAnn (Bechard) MacDougal.

Evan grew up in Champlain and graduated from Northeastern Clinton Central School in 2012, where in addition to his studies, he enjoyed soccer and track and field. He graduated from Clinton Community College with an Associate's Degree and was currently enrolled at Plattsburgh State University and interning at Rochester General Hospital in the Clinical Laboratory Technology Program.

He was the face of customer service at Price Chopper in Champlain where he served as front end supervisor for seven years.

Evan enjoyed playing dodgeball, hiking, biking, and caring for his cats, Charlotte, Bear, Willow and Kit Kat.

He loved spending time with his brothers working on their 1985 Jeep and creating scenarios with their good friend, Wyatt.

Left to cherish the memory of Evan are his loving parents, Paul and LouAnn MacDougal of Champlain; brothers, Jake MacDougal and his companion, Kayla Bezio, and Luke MacDougal, all of Champlain; maternal grandparents, Norman and Kathleen Bechard of Champlain; paternal grandmother, Joan MacDougal of Willsboro; and numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends.

He was predeceased by his paternal grandfather, Paul MacDougal.

Services will be private and at the convenience of the family. A public celebration of his life will be held Monday, October 8, 2018 beginning at 3:00 p.m. at the Champlain Knights of Columbus (3 Oak Street). Family and friends are invited to join together and share their favorite memories of Evan. Everyone is asked to please wear their favorite flannel shirt in his memory.

In remembrance of Evan and his friendly and outgoing personality, his family asks that you take a few minutes out of your day to make someone else's day better.

Donations in his memory may be made to Elmore SPCA in Peru, NY.
