Obituary of Kay R. Rock

Kay R. Rock, 87, of Chesterfield Street, Keeseville, died Monday, June 4, 2018, at the UVM Health Network, CVPH in Plattsburgh, with her loving family by her side.

She was born in Syracuse, July 8, 1930, the daughter of Walter and Jessie (Starr) Rollo. Kay grew up in Mallory and graduated from P.V. Moore High School in Central Square in 1947.

Kay worked as a bookkeeper at Plattsburgh State University for several years, later at the Plattsburgh Air Force Base Credit Union and lastly was the Court Clerk for the Village of Keeseville.

She was a lifetime member and former President of the Ladies of the Elks at the Keeseville Lodge #2072.

Kay enjoyed coloring, her cats, spending time with grandchildren, mowing the lawn, and working in her flower garden.

Left to cherish the memory of Kay are, her loving husband of 42 years (together 55), Rolland R. "Ron" Rock, whom she married, May 29, 1976 in AuSable Chasm; children, Darleen and Ed Stoudemire of Syracuse, Denise (Chapman) Mazepa of Oahu, Hawaii, Darryl and Joyce Chapman of Baldwinsville, and Kimberly Rock of Keeseville; step-children, David and Helen Rock of Cary, North Carolina, Greg and Cathy Rock of Westport, Jeff and Lynn Rock of Morrisonville, and Melanie and Dave Hiatt of Goldsboro, North Carolina; 25 grandchildren; 26 great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.

She was predeceased by her parents.

Committal prayers will be private and at the convenience of the family at the Whispering Maples Memorial Garden in Plattsburgh. Family and friends are invited to attend a life celebration Sunday, June 10, 2018, beginning at 1 PM, at the Keeseville Elks Lodge.

Donations in her memory may be made to the charity of one's choice.
