Obituary of Joseph Andre Albert Tatreault

Joseph Andre Albert “Andy” Tatreault, 85, of State Route 22, Keeseville, died Thursday, May 17, 2018, at Meadowbrook Healthcare in Plattsburgh, with his loving family by his side.

He was born in Chateaugay, August 9, 1932, the fifth of thirteen children to Raymond and Mary Anne (Gregoire) Tetrault.  Andy served in the United States Army from 1950 until his honorable discharge in 1953.  He was a member of the Keeseville VFW Post 1505.

Andy was a well-known and highly respected local general contractor for many years.  Throughout his career he built many local homes.  His skills included moving homes and masonry work.  He also worked as a farmer when he was a young man.

Left to cherish the memory of Andy are, his loving wife of 64 years, Barbara (Senecal) Tatreault, whom he married April 19, 1954; his three children, Denise (Alfred) Agoney, Annette (Mike) Lemieux, and Tim (Chris) Tatreault; nine grandchildren; seventeen great-grandchildren; siblings, Bertha Pavone, Yvonne (George) Snow, Shirley Veteri, Janet Tetreault, Lucille (Ed) Brodeur, Sue (Victor) Sheffield and his only surviving brother, Paul; brother-in-law, Francis Bushey; sister-in-law, Nancy Tetrault; brother-in-law, Gary (Madeline) Senecal; and many nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his sisters, Grace (John) Sullivan and Helen Bushey; brothers, Pete (Arlene), Roger, and Rubin; and brother-in-law, Gene Pavone.

Calling hours will be private and at the convenience of the family.  A public graveside service will be held Monday, May 21, 2018 at 12:30 PM at St. Augustine’s Cemetery in Peru.  The graveside service will include committal prayers and military honors.

Donations in his memory may be made to the HK Freedman Renal Center in Plattsburgh.
