Obituary of Stanley Flora

Stanley C. "Stan" Flora, 76 of Point Road, Willsboro passed away unexpectedly but peacefully at home on April 18, 2018. Stanley was born in Plattsburgh on March 15, 1942, the son of Claude and Dorothy (Stanley) Flora.

Stan worked for Anchor Motor Freight for 23 years. He also worked for several excavation businesses over the past 25 years. He was one of the original members of the Willsboro Rescue Squad, past fire chief and lifetime member of the Willsboro Fire Department. Stan was a charter member of the Moose Lodge #2390 in Plattsburgh as well as a 32 year member at the Elks Lodge #2072 in Keeseville, NY. He also was a parish member of the St. Philip of Jesus Church in Willsboro.

Left to cherish the memory of Stan is his wife of 44 years, Annette L. (Hutchins) Flora, his sister Claudia Flora, brother-in-law Spencer Stafford, Sr., sisters-in law, Anita Hutchins, Audrey (Robert) Beaton, Eldred (Cheryl) Hutchins, and Ann Hutchins. He also leaves behind many friends, nephews and nieces. Several people held a special place in Stanley's heart: his niece Audette Brown, nephews Adam and Randy Brown as well as Catherine and Lizzy Schwennker.

In addition to his parents, Stan was predeceased by his brothers Tom and John, sister-in-law Stella, sister Eleanor Stafford and nephew Spencer Stafford, Jr. Stan's co-pilot of 20 years, Baby Lou, will be awaiting his arrival at the Golden Gates, along with many friends and family members.

Relatives and friends are invited to call on Friday, April 20, 2018 from 4 to 7 PM, at the Hamilton Funeral Home, 294 Mannix Road, Peru. A funeral service will be held on Saturday, April 21, 2018 at 10AM at the St. Philip of Jesus Church, Willsboro with Deacon Paul White, officiating. Burial will follow in the Calvary Cemetery.
