Obituary of Tamicia Liberty

Tamicia Rose "Tammy" Liberty, 59, of Olean Street, Schenectady, died Monday, April 2, 2018 in Glenville, as a result of injuries sustained in an automobile accident.

She was born in Plattsburgh, October 13, 1958, the daughter of Lawrence and Martha (Wood) Liberty. She grew up in Saranac and graduated from Saranac High School in 1976. She later received a Bachelor's Degree.

Tammy worked as a correctional officer for 24 years prior to retiring. During her time in corrections, she also worked for a brief time as a conservation officer. She was currently working at the Rivers Casino and Resort in Schenectady.

Tammy enjoyed playing the guitar and singing and to have a good time with family and friends. She was a favorite "aunt" and loved her many nieces and nephews.

Left to cherish the memory of Tammy are, her aunt, Sandra Liberty Ahern; her siblings, Kay F. Crawford Oliver, Larietta (Glen) Hamel, Albert (Julie) Liberty, Jeffrey (Diann) Liberty, Maxine (Ken) Carter, Mark (Patsy) Liberty, and Robert (Robin) Liberty; and many nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by a brother, Charles F. Crawford; sisters, Jean L. (Jeff) Crawford Wilson, and Bonnie (Jerry) Crawford Newell; and brother-in-law, Nelson Oliver.

There will be no public calling hours. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Saturday, April 7, 2018 at 11 AM at the Church of the Assumption in Redford with Rev. John "Mickey" Demo, parish priest, celebrating. Burial will follow in the parish cemetery.

Donations in her memory may be made to a music scholarship fund, to be established at Saranac Central School.
