Olin E. "Bud" Fuller Keeseville - Olin E. "Bud" Fuller, 77, of the Port Douglas Road, Keeseville, died unexpectedly, Thursday, September 18, 2008. He was born in Lake George, October 31, 1930, the son of Oland A. and Theresa (Varnum) Fuller. Bud worked as a truck driver and a milkman before being elected as the Highway Superintendent in the Town of Chesterfield. He served in that capacity for twenty-four years, retiring in 1988. He subsequently served two terms as a Town Councilman in the Town of Chesterfield. For the last twenty years, Bud and Doris wintered in Ocala, Florida enjoying their family and friends. In the spring, they would return to Keeseville, they're beloved home in the North Country. Bud spent his summers working for Fuller's Excavating as a heavy equipment operator, which was his passion. During his life, Bud enjoyed hunting, fishing, horseshoes and playing cards. The many summers spent at his camp on Auger Lake with his family and friends will be remembered as some of the best of his life. He was a life member of the Keeseville Elks Lodge #2072. He was a Keeseville Volunteer Fireman for twenty-five years. He was a Past President of the Superintendent of Highways Association and he was a member of the New York State Association of Town Superintendent of Highways, Inc. He will be forever missed and loved by his wife, children, grand children, family, friends, co-workers and the community he served for so many years. He is survived by his loving wife of 58 years, Doris Butler Fuller, whom he married on October 10, 1949; three sons and their wives, Alan and Brenda, Steven and Denise and Mark and Kim; two daughters, Cindy and her husband Bob Cobb, Lynn Jarvis and her fiance Peter Person. Fifteen grandchildren; William and wife Heather, Heidi, Jason, Alicia and husband Aaron, Zachary, Jessica, Kevin and wife Jamie, Bobby Jo and husband Mark, James, Karissa, Lindsey and husband Matt, Tiffany, James, Tyler and Alexis; four great grandchildren, Brandon, Sarah, Lauren and Madison; one brother, Merritt and wife Betty; one sister, Marion and husband Lyman Martin, several nieces, nephews and cousins. He was predeceased by his parents; one brother, James; and a brother-in-law, David. Calling hours will be held Saturday, September 20, 2008 from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9pm at the Hamilton Funeral Home, 294 Mannix Road, Peru. Members of the Keeseville Fire Dept. will meet at the funeral home for a 2pm service. Members of the Keeseville Elks Lodge #2072 will meet for a 6:45pm service. A graveside service will be held Monday, September 22, 2008 at 11am at the Port Douglas Cemetery. A gathering will follow at the Cricket's Restaurant in Peru. In lieu of flowers, donations in his memory may be made to the American Heart Association, the American Diabetes Association, or the Keeseville Rescue Squad.
