Roger Howerton, 85, of Clintonville Road, Peru, passed away peacefully on Sunday, May 21, 2023 at his home under the loving care of his family and Hospice of the North Country. He was born in Lamar, WV, on March 7, 1938, the son of Montgomery and Eva (Williams) Howerton. Roger married the love of his life, Claudia Blanchard on March 16, 1958. He worked for Pike Industries for many years as a general foreman. He was a jack of all trades until he retired. Roger enjoyed visits with his close friends, Ray/Berg and his wife, Diane; and hunting and fishing with Ray. Roger enjoyed spending time with his children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren. He enjoyed wrestling and NASCAR. He was a collector of many different things. Left to cherish his memory is his wife of 65 years, Claudia (Blanchard) Howerton; children, Robbin VanDenise and spouse, Rene', Cindy Howerton and companion, Mathew Provost, Brenda Pray and spouse, James, and Roger Howerton, Jr. and companion, Tina Bell; grandchildren, Patrisha Howerton and companion, Chad Roy, Brittany Schebell and spouse, Zachary, Brandon Woodring, Roger Howerton III, and Bryan Pray and companion, Krystle Booth; great grandchildren, Bridgitte, Brent, Wesley, Heaven, Carter, King, and Cameron; brothers, Junior Howerton, Allen Howerton and spouse, Francis, and Edith Howerton; and several nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his brother, Bobby Joe Howerton; sister-in-law, Mary Howerton; daughter-in-law, Cristina Howerton; and great grandson, Martial Lee Chamberland. Relatives and friends are invited to call on Friday, May 26, 2023 from 10 to noon at the Hamilton Funeral Home, 294 Mannix Road, Peru. A Funeral Service will be held in the Hamilton Funeral Home Chapel at Noon with Rev. Edward Blanchard, presiding. Burial will follow in the Harkness Cemetery.
