Port Douglas, New York William Whiting Hohn, August 23, 1943 to May16, 2023 Fifty-five years ago in Port Orchard, Washington I married a young man named Bill. Called Bud by his family, he was born to Amy Whiting Hohn and William H. Hohn in Bridgeport, Conn. He died at home under the care of High Peaks Hospice. Bill spent his childhood summers at the family camp on Lake Chateguay where his love of the Adirondacks began. As a young man he has 2 dreams. The first was to become a soldier. He joined the Army after graduating high school and became a paratrooper in the 101st Airborne where he made 35 parachute jumps, and also helped his unit keep the peace during the integration of schools in Mississippi. From 1965 to 1970 Bill worked in the aerospace industry and traveled the United States to follow those jobs. He was proud to have helped design the first lunar module and the Boeing 747 passenger jet. After completing his Bachelor Degree at Stony Brook University, his second dream came true when he became a police officer in Suffolk County in 1971. There he had many adventures and made life-long friends before we retired to the shores of beautiful Lake Champlain. He enjoyed hiking, golf and helping Habitat for Humanity build homes. Bill was predeceased by a sister, Wendy Hohn; and a niece, Jamey Lee Thompson. He leaves behind siblings, Amy Stover, Bob Hohn, Russell Hohn (Doreen), Patricia Hohn; niece, Cassandra Hohn Wagner (Joe); nephews, Jeff Stover (Catherine), Robert Hohn, James Thompson; sisters-in-law, Suzanne Lanham (Darrell) and Dianne Grace. And me, his wife Lorna. He was my Golden Boy. At Bill's request there will be no funeral services. If you would like to remember Bill with a donation, please honor the Keeseville Free Library 1721 Front street, Keeseville, New York 12944. Arrangements are in the care of the Hamilton Funeral Home, 124 Clinton Street, Keeseville, 834-7667.
