Mark S. Lawrence, son of Helen M. Buckley & Desmond Lawrence, Jr. was born on May 1, 1957 and died at his home on January 26, 2023. He graduated from AuSable Valley Central School in 1976. Mark was a proud member of the United States Army where he was stationed at Fort Dix and then later transferred to Germany. He was also a member of the Lake Placid VFW. Mark worked for Consumer Square in Plattsburgh for several years doing maintenance. He was an avid hunter and fisherman who loved the outdoors. He was preceded by his mother and father; brothers, Gene and Francis; sister, Anne Marie LaMoy; as well as his brothers-in-law, Norman Coolidge, Marvin Smith, and Alan LaMoy. Surviving family are his sisters, Melvina (Wayne) Macey, Carolyn Smith, and Helen Coolidge; brother, Larry (Victoria); sister-in-law, Denise Lawrence; and close friend, Ted Holzer. Mark was a loving son, brother, and devoted uncle to many nieces, nephews, and great nieces and nephews. There will be no calling hours as per Mark’s request. Family will hold a Military service later this spring at Haselton’s Cemetery. Donations in memory of Mark S. Lawrence may be made to the Upper Jay Firehouse.
