Michael Edward LaVarnway, 56, of the Burnt Hill Road, Saranac, died Sunday, March 5, 2023, at the UVM Health Network, CVPH in Plattsburgh. He was born in Greenock, Scotland, December 15, 1966, the son of Gary and Helen (Broadley) LaVarnway. He spent a majority of his childhood in Saranac on the family farm riding horses and spending time in the woods. He was the first grandson to Donald and Rosemarie "Mimi" LaVarnway. Michael was always known as being a free spirit and his love for his Harley Davidson and black labs was well known. He was a beloved member of the biker community and was an avid hunter. Above all he was a true comedian and couldn’t help himself from making jokes at the best and worst of times. He was a loving father, grandfather, brother, and friend. He is remembered by his two sons, Brandon LaVarnway and partner, Rachael Christiana, and Jacob LaVarnway and his mother, Lisa Dumais; grandson, Sawyer LaVarnway; brother, Danny and his wife, Karen LaVarnway; nephews, Jesse LaVarnway and Kyle Drollette; and niece, Kelly Drollette; as well as many aunts, uncles, cousins, and many loving friends. He was predeceased by his parents. There will be no public calling hours or services. A celebration of life will be held Saturday, March 18, 2023 beginning at 2 pm at High Falls Lounge in Saranac.
