Gerald J. “Jerry” Guimond, 83, of Cadyville, passed away Saturday, February 25, 2023 at the UVM Health Network – CVPH, Plattsburgh following a lengthy illness. He was born in Plattsburgh on December 9, 1939, the son of Leonard and Lena (Bell) Guimond. Jerry began his career with the US Air Force, stationed in Germany with travels to Strasbourg France and Morocco, which he spoke of with many fond memories. After getting Honorably discharged from the US Air Force, he worked for Rosebud Creamery as a delivery man and then spent 26 years at Imperial Wallpaper from which he retired. He then spent his retirement working as a custodian for Saranac School District. He was a volunteer firefighter/EMT with Saranac Volunteer Fire Department for approximately 10 years. He has been a member of Keeseville Independent Baptist Church for over 30 years; over the years he enjoyed fellowshipping with his church family. Jerry wanted everyone to know that he loved the Lord and that Jesus was his personal savior. He was also an avid camper and loved watching spaghetti western movies. He would also like to personally thank Bob and Sandy Davidson for their friendship and all their love and support over the years. He is predeceased in death by his loving wife of 59 years, Dorothy (Guerin) Guimond; daughter, Kathleen M. (Donah) Daugherty; brother and sister, Leonard H. Guimond and Shirley (Guimond) Marker; and his parents, Leonard and Lena Guimond. Left to cherish his memory are his children, Richard G. Donah and his wife Karen D. of La Porte, IN, Debra A. Timm of Strasburgh, OH, Michael L. Donah and his wife Brenda of Cadyville, Dennis J. Guimond and his wife Christine of Saranac; sisters-in-law, Linda Guimond of Keeseville, and Thelma Place of Keeseville. He was blessed with 12 grandchildren, Richard D. Donah and wife Jennifer, Kara A. Donah, Jacob E. Timm, Lauren E. Timm, Jason Donah, Reen’e Donah, Candace Provost, Michelle Donah, Crystal Coley, Tiffany Rockenstire, Shawn Guimond, and Billy Norcross; as well as 12 great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews. There will be no public calling hours. A memorial to celebrate his life will be in the future. He will be interred at Whispering Maples Memorial Garden with his wife, Dorothy. In lieu of flowers, donations in the memory of Gerald J. Guimond may be made to the Saranac Volunteer Fire Department or the Keeseville Independent Baptist Church.
