Charlotte A. Butler, 88, formerly of Saranac, passed away peacefully, on February 17, 2023, at Meadowbrook Healthcare, with her loving family by her side. She was born in Constable, on February 11, 1935, the daughter of the late Lawrence and Viola (Paquin) Avery. Charlotte was a head cook at Saranac Central School, retiring in 1990. She cherished time with her family and preparing meals, and also loved playing bingo and the lottery. Scratch off tickets was a must. Charlotte is survived by her daughters and sons-in-law, Linda (Fred) Martin of Morrisonville, Susan (Jack) Verterano of Morrisonville, Patti (Randy) LaMora of Plattsburgh, Carol (Mark) Plumadore of Saranac, Julie (Ronnie) Cane of Saranac and Nancy (Mark) McDowell of Peru; 8 grandchildren; 8 great-grandchildren; two sisters, Frances (Ronald) Duprey of Morrisonville and Gloria Bouvia of Ellenburgh; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins. She was predeceased by her husband, Francis "Bud" Butler; 4 grandchildren, Stacey (Miner) Rock, Nichole Cane, and Danielle and Joel Plumadore; and a sister, Mary Avery. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated Thursday, February 23, 2023 at Noon at the Church of the Assumption, with Rev. Michael J. Jablonski, parish priest, celebrating. A reception will follow Mass, at the Saranac American Legion. Committal prayers and burial will be held in the spring in the parish cemetery. Donations in her memory may be made to the activity fund at Meadowbrook Healthcare or the Church of the Assumption. Charlotte's family would like to extend a special "thank you" to the Birchlane staff at Meadowbrook Healthcare, for the compassionate care shown to her.
