Diesel Allen Cook, 2 years 5 months and 8 days old, of Peru, joined the angels, Saturday, February 11, 2023. He was born in Plattsburgh, September 3, 2020, the son of Justin Robert Cook and Katelynn Devin Brooke Damour. Diesel loved dinosaurs, tractors, getting greasy and dirty, holy jeans, kinetic sand, and the color red. Please consider wearing a little something red or bringing a red rose to place, in honor of his love of red. Though his time here was brief, he touched many lives. His memory will forever be cherished and love for him will never end. Left to cherish the memory of Diesel are, his father, Justin Cook; paternal grandparents, Angie Cook and her companion, Elvis Osher; and Jason (Julia) Cook; maternal grandmother and step-grandfather, Angela Lawrence Daoust and Andrew Daoust; paternal great-grandparents, Richard and Donna Desotell, and Gary and Pam Cook; maternal great-grandmother, Cheryl Lawrence; paternal great-great-grandmother, Mary Seymour; aunts, Brittney, Jodi, and Julie; uncles, Jessie, Ian, Finn, and Weston; and many other, aunts, uncles, cousins, and other family. He was predeceased by maternal grandfather, Kevin Damour; great-grandparents, Frank Lawrence, and Richard “Dick” LaPointe; paternal great-great-grandparents, Leonard Seymour, and Margaret Falcone; and maternal great-great-grandparents, Pete and Lois Dufrane, and Anna Lawrence. Calling hours will be held Friday, February 17, 2023 from 2 to 5 pm at St. Augustine’s Church in Peru. A prayer will be offered at the conclusion of the wake at 5 pm, in the church. A dinner reception will follow at the Saranac American Legion Post 1618, 275 Wilson Road, Saranac, NY 12981, for friends and family to gather and share stories while honoring and remembering them. Diesels paternal family will host a private gathering at a later date. Donations in his memory may be made to the children's charity of your choice.
