Mrs. Louise G. “Major P” Pilkington, 82, of Port Kent and formerly of Morrisonville, NY and Englewood, FL, passed away on Thursday, Dec. 29, 2022 at home with her loving family by her side while under the care of High Peaks Hospice. She was born in Madawaska, ME on April 18, 1940, the daughter of Joseph and Antoinette (Poirier) Savoie. Louise attended St. Elizabeth’s School of Nursing where she graduated with an RN degree before entering the U.S. Air Force. She served from 1972 to 1992, where she worked as an OB/GYN Practitioner. During her time in the Air Force, while being stationed at Beale AFB, California she met and married her late husband William. During her military career, Louise was stationed in California, Germany and Alaska, before retiring in NY at Plattsburgh AFB. During her time at PAFB, Louise served in Desert Storm where she helped with tending to the injured. After retiring, Louise worked at different offices around Plattsburgh where she met and worked with many great people. Louise loved traveling cross country by motorcycle with her late husband, her brother and sister in law. She enjoyed having fun with family and friends, especially with friends on Rand Hill Rd. Good times were had by all! She was predeceased by her parents, Joseph and Antoinette Savoie, husband William Pilkington, son in law Brian Zimmerman, sisters Marcella, Alyn and Jackie. Louise is survived by her daughters and families Leighann Greene and her husband Kevin of Port Kent and their daughter Emma Greene; Teresa Zimmerman of Evens, Ga and her children Tim Bower and his wife Brittan, William “Billy” Bower and his wife Ryanne, Nicholas Bower and his wife Brittany, and Brianna Zimmerman; Michelle VanDenBusch of Englewood, Fl and her children Tiffany LaFountain and her husband Brian, Andrew VanDenBusch, and Kyle VanDenBusch and his wife Cassandra. Her great grandchildren Zoe, Logan, Callie, Josiah, Naomi, Armondo, Jaiden, Jazlyn, Elliot, Angelina, Kyleigh, Cameron, Charlotte and Aiden. She is also survived by her brothers and sisters. Calling hours with be held Sunday, March 12, 2023 from 2 to 5 pm at the Hamilton Funeral Home, 294 Mannix Road, Peru. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at Monday, March 13, 2023 at 11 am at St. Alexander’s Church in Morrisonville, with Rev. Scott R. Seymour, parish priest, celebrating. Military burial with honors will be held at a later date at Sarasota National Cemetery, Sarasota, Fl. In lieu of flowers, friends wishing may make donations to the American Stroke Association or High Peaks Hospice.
