Ethel Ida Martin, 90, formerly of the Guide Board Road, Peasleeville, died Wednesday, December 28, 2022 at the Clinton County Nursing Home in Plattsburgh. She was born in and grew up in Peasleeville, November 2, 1932, the daughter of Frank and Louise (LaRose) Savage. She graduated from Peru High School in 1951. Ethel was a lifetime communicant of St. Matthew's Church in Black Brook. She was a loving wife, mother and grandmother. Ethel was fond of cooking and baking for many weekly family dinners. She also enjoyed reading and participating in countless dances at several venues throughout the North Country. Survivors include her children, Frank Lahue, Ronald Lahue (Jean), Brian Lahue (Tammy), and Sherry Chung (Hanh); son-in-law, Glenn True; numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her first husband, Frank Lahue; second husband, Sherman Martin; daughter, Tammie True; daughter-in-law, Norma Lahue; and siblings, Nelson (Clara) Savage, Monroe (Marjorie) Savage, Ilene (Walter) Jaje, Jeanette (Clifford) Rule, and Raymond (Mary) Savage. Relatives and friends are invited to call, Saturday, December 31, 2022 from 11 to Noon at the Hamilton Funeral Home, 294 Mannix Road, Peru. A funeral service will follow at Noon in the Hamilton Funeral Home Chapel. Committal prayers and burial will be held in the spring in St. Matthew's Cemetery in Black Brook. Donations in her memory may be made to the Clinton County Nursing Home, in honor of their wonderful care of Ethel.
