Robert "Bob" Conners, 82, of Mason Street, Morrisonville, passed away on Thursday October 27, 2022 at the CVPH Medical Center in Plattsburgh, following a ten year battle with dementia. He was born in Plattsburgh on May 4, 1940 to William and Mary (Schofield) Conners. Bob graduated from Peru Central School in 1960. On August 22, 1964, he married the former Beverly Barber at St. Alexander's Church in Morrisonville. He worked for Bernard Barber Sales and Service for many years before becoming employed at the Clinton County Landfill Department. After his retirement from the County, he operated Conners Sand Pit with his wife for many years. Throughout his life, Bob ran a small hobby farm. He enjoyed taking care of his cattle, cutting wood in his family wood lot and spending time with family, especially his grandchildren. Bob is survived by his wife of 58 years, Beverly; his children and their spouses, William and Shannon Conners of Morrisonville, Elizabeth and Jamy Begor of Mooers Forks, and Michelle and Gary (Lee) Vaughn of Plattsburgh; and his grandchildren, Emily and Fiana Conners, Ethan and Amanda Vaughn. He is also survived by his brother and sister-in-law, Richard and Colleen Conners; and several cousins, nieces and nephews. Bob was predeceased by his parents, William and Mary Conners; his sister and brother-in-law, Sheila and Ronald Provost; his mother and father-in-law, Bernard and Dorothy Barber; special uncle and aunt, Joe and Claudette Schofield; cousins, David Connell, Thomas Schofield, and James Downs; and several aunts and uncles. The family would like to extend special thanks to his home caregivers and the staff at CVPH Medical Center for providing loving and compassionate care. Calling hours will be held Sunday, October 30, 2022 from Noon to 2 pm at the Hamilton Funeral Home, 294 Mannix Road, Peru. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated Monday, October 31, 2022 at 11 am at St. Alexander's Church in Morrisonville with life-long family friend, Rev. Philip T. Allen, celebrating. Committal prayers and burial will follow in the parish cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Alzheimer's Disease Caregiver Support Initiative at SUNY Plattsburgh or St. Alexander's Church in Morrisonville.
