Shirley Virginia LaMar, 77, of Old Orchard Street, Morrisonville, died Thursday, September 1, 2022, at The University of Vermont Medical Center in Burlington, Vermont. She was born in Plattsburgh, June 9, 1945, the daughter of Leonard Henry and Mildred Alice (LaMay) LaMar. Shirley grew up in Peru and graduated from Peru High School in 1964. She attended Clinton Community College. She worked as a salesclerk in several area fashion stores including Merkel's. Lastly, she was a Teacher's Aide at CVES in Plattsburgh. Shirley loved crafts, painting, flower gardening and watching and feeding birds. Left to cherish the memory of Shirley are, her two daughters, Jeanna (William) Plympton and Lisa Latremore; three grandchildren, Ryan Kenny, Elisabeth Plympton, and Benjamin LaDieu; two siblings, Suzanne Randall, and Leonard LaMar; and several nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her son, Michael Brooks Latremore; siblings, Betty (Marshall) Brett, and James LaMar; and brother-in-law, Clarence Randall. Relatives and friends are invited to call on Tuesday, September 6, 2022 from 1 to 2 pm at the Hamilton Funeral Home, 294 Mannix Road, Peru. A funeral service will follow at 2 pm in the Hamilton Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Scott R. Seymour, presiding. Committal prayers and burial will follow in St. Augustine's Cemetery.
