Peter R. Prescott, 78, of Main Street, Keeseville, passed away on Saturday, January 29, 2022 at Meadowbrook Nursing Home in Plattsburgh with his loving family by his side. He was born in Plattsburgh on November 4, 1943 the son of Romeyn and Eleanora (Larson) Prescott. Peter lived his entire life in Keeseville, NY. He attended Keeseville Central School and Phillips Exeter Academy. He graduated from Clarkson College in 1967 and was a proud founding member of the Pep Band as well as a member of the Alpha Kappa Psi Fraternity. Peter met the love of his life, Colleen Charbonneau, at the Cannata Lodge in Port Kent in 1967 and they were married the following year. They spent many happy years raising their children, and then enjoyed their empty nest by traveling far and wide, ultimately finding their favorite spot in New Orleans to which they often returned. Peter’s love of family and his community was second to none. He gave more than he took, spending many years as a member of the Keeseville Volunteer Fire Department and Rescue Squad, and was a past President and Paul Harris Fellow of the Rotary Club of the AuSable Valley. He also served on the Board of Ausable Chasm, most recently as Treasurer. His other community services included involvement in the Friends of the North Country and the Keeseville Area Scholarship committee. His interests were vast, and he spent his early adult years working in various jobs. Most of his career was spent in the insurance industry helping people protect the things most important to them. He finished his career as an owner/partner of Cool Insuring of Glens Falls, retiring as Vice President. Peter had a gift for music and played just about any instrument he picked up with expertise. His love of music was passed down to his children and grandchildren where it lives on today. Left to cherish his memory are Colleen C. Prescott, his bride of 53 years; children Romeyn (Amanda) Prescott, and Kelly (Dean) Frady; grandchildren, Brady Turner, Kyle Prescott, W. Prescott Doyle, Garrett Frady, and Shea Frady; brother-in-law, Robert Krueger; niece, Kimberly Gorton; nephew, Michael Gorton; several cousins, and close friends.
