Marion Elizabeth Dixon, 86, of the Lyons Road, Plattsburgh, died Saturday, January 8, 2022, at her home, with her loving husband by her side. She was born in Plattsburgh, November 25, 1935, the daughter of Fred and Lillian (Boyd) Lyons. She grew up on the Lyons Road, and graduated from Peru High School in 1954. She later graduated from Plattsburgh Business School. Marion married Allen Henry Dixon May 27, 1960 in St. Augustine's Church in Peru. She worked at Aird Dorrance in Morrisonville for a few years then the Town of Plattsburgh as a social worker, and lastly Clinton County Dept. of Social Services where she worked for many years prior to retiring in the 1980s. Marion was an active member of the Catholic Daughters, Senior Citizens Center of Plattsburgh, and assisted with bingo at the Peru Knights of Columbus. She enjoyed crocheting and knitting Christmas stockings, afghans, and childrens clothing, and doing crossword puzzles, sudoku, and coupon cutting. Left to cherish the memory of Marion are, her devoted husband of nearly 62 years, Allen Henry Dixon; children, David Dixon of NH, DeeDee Bleaux of NH, and Michael (Michelle) Dixon of TX; five grandchildren, Diana, Jessica (Daniel) Gregory, II (Lauren), Rachel, and Chris; eight great-grandchildren, Christopher, Bailey, Sophia, Mason, Charlotte, Audrey, Hadley, and Hudson; and several cousins, nieces, and nephews. In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by an infant sister; and son-in-law, Gregory Bleaux. Calling hours will be held Friday, January 14, 2022 from 10 to Noon at the Hamilton Funeral Home, 294 Mannix Road, Peru. A Mass of Christian Burial will follow at 12:30 pm at St. Augustine’s Church in Peru. Burial will be in the spring in the Mount Carmel Cemetery in Plattsburgh.
